Community Healing Fund

Collaborating with Black-led organizations to create a more equitable and supportive grant process built directly on the needs of nonprofits and the community they serve.

Community Healing Fund

In 2021, United Way of Greater Knoxville started the Community Healing Fund to support small to medium-sized Black-led organizations and to collaborate to create a more equitable grant process. This year, our committee selected 15 Black-led organizations who are rooted in community to receive these unrestricted funds. These 15 organizations will work together, alongside United Way of Greater Knoxville, to create a shared aspiration for the community. Our hope is that this group will help us continually refine our grant process to make it more equitable and more focused on true community need.

By investing in this fund, donors will be able to see the growth in the community through the empowerment of local Black nonprofits through capacity building and resource allocation. Resources will be directly distributed back in the community to create a brighter and more equitable future.
