How It Works

2-1-1 is a great way to access human service agencies for the support you need. When you dial 2-1-1, you connect with someone who cares and is ready to help. 

Anyone can call 2-1-1 for support, including parents, individuals, older people, those with disabilities, and people who do not speak English.

How We Can Help

  • Basic Human Needs Resources: including housing and shelter, food, clothing, household supplies and utilities.
  • Physical and Mental Health Resources: medical, dental, vision, mental health, addictions, domestic violence and abuse.
  • Work Support: employment, taxes, education, training and legal.
  • Aging and Disability Services: senior support, Medicare, disabled housing, health, education, employment, and advocacy resources.
  • Population Specific Support: LGBTQIA+ education, advocacy and support, veteran benefits and support, and support for non-English-speaking people.
  • Other Needs: leisure activities, disaster services, public assistance, and more.

Our local 2-1-1 is operated by the City of Knoxville through their 3-1-1 Center for Service Innovation.
