A Vehicle for Change

A mobile “2-1-1,” the Changemobile takes nonprofit efforts deeper into the community. As a literal vehicle for change, the Changemobile extends reach and capacity to serve the Knoxville community. Whether it be through in-person advice, counsel, or information and education, the Changemobile addresses the regions’ greatest needs by meeting community members where they are. It provides a constant, visual reminder that support is available, no matter the need, time, or place. It allows services to be mobilized, empowering non-profits to respond to crises such as fires or pandemics. Volunteers can rally with the Changemobile as their command center; it’s a hub for volunteer efforts and can assist in the delivery of everything from materials for a mural painting to refreshments at landscaping projects.

The Changemobile

The Changemobile is a 2016 Flying Cloud Airstream 27FB towed by a 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman Crew Cab 4 x 4 (provided by Harper Auto). Both are externally wrapped in the Unite for Change branding to encourage visibility and serve as a unifying beacon for multi-use purposes and groups. The original Airstream layout has been modified to include desk and seating space with projection capabilities, tether mounts for transporting additional outside chairs and tables, a pop-up tent for additional footprint space, and an included Go Pro camera and accessories.

Nonprofits are encouraged to book and utilize the Changemobile to bring your reach directly into the community. Use the Changemobile as a command center, volunteer and event hub, crisis responder, and a visibility creator for the efforts of your organization.

United Way of Greater Knoxville staff and local nonprofits can book the vehicle for an event, service, outreach, or program.
